Physical Features
This is a slim MP3 player with an affordable price tag. With a very competitive price, it offers very few features with disappointing video quality and a limited capacity. However, the design is more suited for rugged and hard use as the body is made of metal. The designers have given a lot of attention for the shape and the dimensions of this device. The body is very thin and made of Aluminum having dimensions of 1.8 x 3.3 x 0.3 inches. It shares some of the features with second generation iPod Nano of its shape. A fish shaped navigation panel looks a little odd but it is no different than any other MP3 navigation panel. It includes four-way navigation with a selection button in the middle with a separate buttons for power and cancel located adjoining the navigation panel on to the left hand side. Inclusion of antireflective 1.8 inch OLED color screen for this economical MP3 player would be the best achievement overall. But, after viewing videos of surprisingly poor quality 160 x 128 screen resolution, it is clear that the screen size is not everything. Archos 105 includes an audio player, video player and photo viewer. It’s missing some important and useful features such as an FM radio, voice recorder and line recorder which a lot of consumers find useful and essential.

Technical Department
Archos 105 has one of poorest video playback feature due to its low resolution screen. As a comparison, iPod Nano has twice of the same resolution. This players supports few formats; MP3, WMA, Protected-WMA, WAV as audio formats and WMV for video but encoded with 15 frames per second rate. The playback can be resumed from where you left off, a feature you won’t find in a budget MP3 player. The files can be sorted using ID3 attributes too. The music player is the best feature of 105 because transferring music from Windows Media Player is a piece of cake. During music playback, you can set your EQ presets (including custom five-band EQ), add bookmarks to long audio files such as audio books, retrieve detailed file information etc.
